I’ve had the pleasure of receiving a copy of Thirsty, the first in what appears to be an ongoing series by Pat Shand of Space Between Entertainment, by becoming a backer for the next graphic novel, Cheeky. In this sensual series of stories, I found more than what I was looking for: honesty. When we view sex in certain mediums, we forget the core aspects are much more different than the advertisement nature found in ordinary pornography and begin to lose the much more deeper details. This book is definitely not shy about displaying the “weirdness” of natural sex, but it’s much more educational as it is indeed sexy!
Another good lesson from this graphic novel is that sometimes you have to think outside the box and that someone’s successes aren’t always going to equal the same for you. As I’m not a sex worker, I can place that type of lesson onto my own works and have even started doing it to much more prevail. Even then, an amazing amount of real sex education flood this book and not in a lurid way most sex positive books can be at times.

Not going to spoil some of the intricate story lines here, I will say that it does showcase both natural bodies and amazing art work. I love the noir aesthetics some of the frames have as it almost feels like a much older pin-up comic series than a modern one. I almost feel like there is personal projection in some of the panels and it’s refreshing either way. I had so much fun reading these that I myself wanted to create an open forum for sexual discussions brought on by this comic. Sexual goddess or eager beginner, this graphic novel is for you!

I’m looking forwards to the next issue of this series, only available on kickstarter, as these short stories are informational and should be shared amongst some of my closest friends. If interested, please check out the Twitter links above and check out the rest of their works as well.
