Indie Foodie Review: As You Wish Wings and Things

I’ve caught the review bug recently and have no idea where it came from. Partly I believe it’s from some self-importance I have on myself to help others get exposure while I also believe people genuinely like what I write when reviewing others. As to be believed from all aspects: nothing is more believable than a good wing truck!

The oasis in the middle of a poor flavored desert.

Welcome to As You Wish Wings and Things, a food truck that ventured into my small town back in 2020 right when the first lockdown hit, placing itself in one location per weekend and eventually two locations. At the time I was aware of this beautiful food truck, I had been hit by the “buy black initiative” thought due to being radicalized by the money shifting in this new age recession and wanted to do my part. When I first arrived, I was met with an amazing presentation of smells, sounds (the speakers the owners own play the most luxurious 2000’s R&B unapologetically) and eventually taste. When it was my turn to venture to the ordering window, I was greeted like a neighbor rather than a customer and was shown a myriad of amazing options!

This combo held me down for a LONG time!

The food truck name references wings AND things and that latter part is not so vague once you see the menu. They host a variety of other foods to meet and greet your wing order such as: pulled pork, mozzarella sticks, and mac and cheese! I know I mentioned that my small town may not have been the most flavorful at the time (or rarely ANY time, especially outside my house), but this truck was indeed the savior I needed! Til this day, I’ve never had a bad order from here in my entire life!

I cry every time these aren’t on the menu!

However, the real crown jewel isn’t the wings in this case. They make cupcakes too and host a real good variety up there as well. You can find a flavor for anyone, most outstanding ones are their Sweet Potato Cupcakes. When I tell you this is the best thing on the menu, believe me and go see! Hands down the party starter. The sweet cream cheese frosting on the sweet potato cupcake will send you flying into an explosion of bliss with each bite! They’re often made in small batches per week so you generally won’t see them each visit, but always get them when they are!

My personal favorite: Honey Siracha! Ask for them to be fried in the sauce for extra crisps!

The food truck isn’t year round as they take their leave in the late Fall and return in the mid-Spring which is the ONLY downside, if any. If you’re ever in Brownsburg, IN on the weekends between Friday-Saturday from 12PM-6PM, make sure you make the stop to As You Wish Wings and Things! Located either outside Walmart (400 W Northfield Dr, Brownsburg, IN 46112) on Fridays or Ace Hardware (800 E Main St, Brownsburg, IN 46112) on Saturdays! NOTE: They do take week breaks so peek the social media pages for updates.

The owners, Victoria and Dane, rocking their homemade BBQ sauce. Also purchasable!

I am so proud of these amazing entrepreneurs! I know first hand of their amazing selections. These fantastic people are my sister and brother-in- love. I am trying to figure out how to get this food truck in Austin, Texas. Congratulations on your success!
